Nathan and Audrey officially met on a dating app! Shoutout to Bumble. There is, however, some debate over their actual first meeting, as they soon realized they both attended the same small party in Piedmont, CA while they were in college, where they would have at least seen each other and were probably introduced… but no one can say for sure. ​

 

Their first date was a rainy November evening at Bottlehouse Wine Bar in Seattle. Neither of them could believe they had found another Bay Area native who'd adopted a love for Seattle, and they connected over their shared love of skiing, tech, and being far more indoorsy than outdoorsy. After only one hour of banter and laughs, Nathan knew that he had a huge crush on Audrey. ​ 

 

Just a few months later, Nathan invited Audrey on a ski trip to Snowbird with 7 of his guy friends, where they started to really fall in love. Since then, they have created memories all over the world together: London, Ireland, Buenos Aires, Belize, Costa Rica, Mexico, Whistler, Salt Lake City, Big Sky, Bend, Banff, Fish Haven, New York, Palm Springs, Los Angeles,
... and of course Paris! ​ 

 

In between all their travels, things progressed beautifully and naturally between them in Seattle and they grew to be true, loving partners to one another. So much so that Audrey was able to overcome her biggest doubt about Nathan… that he loved cats. But not only that… that he had a cat. But their love was so great that not only did she ultimately accept this fact about Nathan, she even grew to love the little guy (er, big, rather) that is Oscar. In contrast, Nathan immediately took in Walter (Audrey’s magical gremlin dog) as his own. 

 

In November 2023, Nathan and Audrey (and Walter and Oscar) moved in together to Audrey’s recently purchased new house in Columbia City – a neighborhood in southern Seattle – where they live now.

Nathan proposed to Audrey in March 2024. Audrey LOVES surprises, so Nate was determined to make the occasion an epic surprise that she wouldn’t forget. A plan was schemed and executed with the help of Claire (Audrey's sister), Julia (Nathan’s sister) and a few of Audrey’s best friends in Seattle: they planned a decoy “spring solstice” party, with a “girls dinner” beforehand. While Audrey was out of the house, Nathan, Claire, and Julia set up all the decorations. When Audrey returned from dinner, Nathan was in a tuxedo standing in a heart made of rose petals. They talked for a bit… and she said yes! Turns out the spring solstice party was actually a surprise engagement party. 

 

Which brings us to today. If you’re reading this, you are someone who has been critical to the story and lives of the happy couple. Now it’s time to celebrate in style for a night that all of us will never forget!
